Experienced Commercial Real Estate Valuation Leader Strengthens Nova’s Presence in the Carolinas
Nova Group, GBC is pleased to announce that Erica Butler, MAI, has joined the firm’s Valuation & Advisory team as Managing Director, Valuation & Advisory. Based in the Carolinas, Erica brings more than 15 years of commercial real estate valuation and consulting experience throughout the United States.
Erica has extensive appraisal experience across a broad range of asset types, including retail, industrial, office, mixed-use, land, self-storage, hotels, racetracks, religious facilities, regional malls, convenience stores, car washes, golf courses, and other special purpose properties. She serves a diverse client base that includes banks, CMBS lenders and special servicers, insurance companies, private lenders, REITs, funds, attorneys, asset and investment managers, agency seller/servicers, developers, municipalities, and private owners.

In her role, Erica will provide valuation, consulting, and advisory services while collaborating with Nova’s nationwide team of valuation professionals to support clients across a diverse range of property types and real estate needs. Her addition further enhances Nova’s expanding Valuation & Advisory platform and reinforces the firm’s commitment to delivering specialized expertise, trusted insights, and exceptional client service.

Erica earned her degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. She is also President-Elect of the North Carolina Appraisal Institute. Erica has garnered national attention within the profession and was honored with the 2024 William T. Anglyn Award from the Appraisal Institute and the 2025 Innovator Award from the North Carolina Appraisal Institute. Additionally, Erica presented at the 2025 National Conference and has been selected as a Discussion Leader at the 2027 Leadership and Development Advisory Council for the Appraisal Institute.
Erica's addition reflects Nova Group’s continued investment in experienced industry leaders and specialized valuation expertise as the firm continues to expand its national Valuation & Advisory platform.
