Nova Group, GBC Acquires Peak Environmental in New Jersey
Leading real estate due diligence advisory firm completes second strategic acquisition of Q4 2021
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – February 2, 2022 – Nova Group, GBC (“Nova”), an industry-leading commercial real estate due diligence advisory firm, announces their December 30, 2021 acquisition of Peak Environmental (“Peak”) in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
Nova’s acquisition of Peak significantly strengthens their presence in New Jersey, New York, and surrounding areas, ultimately expanding upon the availability of quality turnkey services to Nova’s Commercial Real Estate client base in these critical markets. This acquisition comes on the heels of Nova’s October acquisition of Chicago-based Carlson Environmental, making it their second strategic acquisition of Q4 2021.
"We are thrilled to welcome the Peak team to the Nova family. From our first conversations with Ken, Eric, and the team, it has been clear that we share many common values and goals, including retaining and growing the outstanding Peak staff. Peak's leadership group has carefully built a quality team of professionals and a robust list of loyal clients in their market. With seven LSRPs among their environmental and remediation professional staff, Peak is uniquely qualified to help Nova support and sustain its US and International growth and service expansion strategies. In addition to growing their already thriving business, the Peak team will now be available to complete full investigation and remediation projects when Nova identifies liabilities while performing Environmental Site Assessments for our clients."

While reflecting on the 25-year history of Peak and the decisions and relationships that led to its growth and success over that time, Kenneth Nieuwenhuis said, "our success made it apparent that a growth and continuity plan for the next 25 years and beyond is required. We ultimately came to this agreement because Nova is a clear fit for us in terms of culture, ethics, and the opportunity for Peak to maintain its identity and self-direction with the support and benefit from the additional resources and global market reach they've established."
