After leading Carlson Environmental (now a Nova Group, GBC Company) for more than 36 years, and with nearly 50 years in the environmental industry, Edward (Ed) Garske has decided to enjoy a bit more free time and is stepping away from the day-to-day operations of Carlson. We are greatly indebted to Ed for his leadership of Carlson for all these years and for being the guiding force behind its success. His contributions throughout the last 36 years have served a critical role in the acquisition and redevelopment of thousands of Brownfield sites across the Midwest and beyond.
However, Ed is remaining on staff in a reduced capacity, focusing on high-level environmental advisory for litigation and complex remedial/development projects. He will also maintain his presence with several legacy clients and projects that he has decades of institutional knowledge on. Staff, clients, and industry colleagues know Ed’s tenacity, technical expertise, and willingness to think outside of the box to resolve complex environmental matters, and we are grateful that even in his reduced capacity, Ed will be able to continue to advise on high-level technical matters for years to come.
While we celebrate Ed’s well-deserved step back, we are excited to officially announce the creation of Carlson’s new Leadership Group! The Leadership Group has cumulatively worked for Carlson under Ed’s direction for more than 50 years and was developed to ensure a seamless transition of all facets of Carlson’s service lines. The Leadership Group will consist of three Principals (Marie Mueller, Scott McSorley, and Paul Micari) who will have separate focus areas, but with the shared common goal of client success.
Paul Micari – Carlson Principal, Operations - Vice President, Nova Group, GBC
Marie Mueller – Carlson Principal, Environmental Due Diligence
Scott McSorley – Carlson Principal, Investigation & Remediation
In addition to the creation of Carlson’s Leadership Group, Christine Kozuch has been promoted to Director, Site Acquisition Services.
