🌟 Project Impact Story 🌟
In 2022, a not-for-profit veterans' advocacy group submitted a proposal to renovate the barracks at Fort Whipple in Prescott, Arizona. The existing officers' quarters were originally constructed between 1904 and 1908 to house veterans of the Spanish-American War (April-August 1898) and the Philippine-American War (1899-1902) and medical personnel for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Today, these dilapidated structures would be renovated, and a new 70-unit multifamily residence would be developed on three acres of vacant land to serve disenfranchised and homeless veterans.
Nova Group, GBC was retained by CREA, LLC to conduct third-party reviews of the due diligence reports, including the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) of the Subject Property, as well as asbestos, lead, and radon surveys of the existing structures. The reviews required careful scrutiny for compliance with ASTM International requirements as well as applicable federal and state regulations. Following the submittal of Nova's review, ground was broken for the new 70-unit residence on January 6, 2025, and renovations of the officers' quarters are underway.
This is an example of how Nova serves its clients through the administration of due diligence protection for lenders and developers seeking to revitalize neighborhoods and repurpose unused properties. In this case, our product also provides for those who served our country and deserve only the highest standard of care.
