Nova Group, GBC Welcomes Richard Taller as Managing Director of Valuation & Advisory in the Northeast

Nova Group, GBC is pleased to announce that Richard Taller, MAI has joined the firm as Managing Director, Valuation & Advisory, based in the New York City office. In this role, Richard will lead Valuation & Advisory services across New York, New Jersey, and the broader tri-state region, further expanding Nova Group, GBC’s capabilities in real estate advisory services.

Richard brings more than 14 years of commercial real estate valuation and consulting experience, advising institutional investors, private owners, developers, and lenders on a wide range of property types and assignments nationwide. His background includes extensive work on complex valuation matters across both stabilized and development-stage assets.

Throughout his career, Richard has worked with respected valuation firms including Metropolitan Valuation Services, Highbridge Realty Advisors, and Bowery Valuation, where he specialized in appraising large-scale developments and diverse property types across the Northeast. His expertise spans market-rate and affordable multifamily housing, development sites, transferable air rights, retail, office, industrial, and healthcare properties, positioning him to support clients through a wide variety of analytical and advisory needs.

Richard holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. He is an active member of the Appraisal Institute and has demonstrated strong industry leadership, serving on the Board of Directors for the Appraisal Institute’s Northeast New Jersey Chapter, including most recently as Chapter President from 2022 to 2024.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Accounting from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance and Investments from New York University, combining technical valuation expertise with a strong financial foundation.
