Mr. Nelson has joined Nova with over 25 years of real estate, civil, and environmental engineering experience. He specializes in the preparation of Architectural and Engineering Physical Condition Assessments, Document and Constructability Reviews, PMLs, Construction Administration Services, Environmental Engineering Services, and Construction Management Services for commercial real estate properties throughout the country for many of the major real estate investors and providers of equity and debt financing as well as the federal government. Mr. Nelson has worked on all property types, including K-12, industrial, office, retail, multi-family, mixed-use building, telecommunications sites, and undeveloped land. He has conducted or been responsible for services in all 50 states, Guam and Mexico.
Mr. Nelson has served as an Engineer for several national environmental consulting firms, where he performed and managed environmental site assessments on various industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential properties. Assessments included limited and comprehensive surveys for asbestos, lead-based paint, lead-in-drinking water, and radon gas emissions. Mr. Nelson has also managed subsurface investigations to determine the presence of contamination in soil and groundwater. These duties included sampling hazardous and non-hazardous groundwater from monitoring wells and streams, managing Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) groundwater pump and treatment systems, and preparing discharge and sampling analytical reports to submit to the EPA and other environmental agencies.
Mr. Nelson has also worked for construction companies and consulting firms in Project and Program Management capacities as well as construction management and superintendent roles for high-value assets, including hospitals, jails, water treatment plants, sewer systems, bridges, mass transit, and railways.
In his free time, Mr. Nelson enjoys spending time with his family and friends. When time permits, his hobbies include traveling, gun collecting, ATV riding, and spending time in his music production studio.
