Location: Flexible location in Major Metro Areas (Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, New York City, etc.)

Job Description

Nova Group, GBC is currently seeking qualified candidates to join the Nova Energy Group. In this position, you will conduct analysis of utility data to assist with energy audits completed by our technical team.

Following the successful mastery of the basic skills and experiences required, this role can offer multiple opportunities for additional growth and development including entry-level Energy Audits in accordance with ASHRAE, local, state, and federal regulations. The energy audits may include report writing based on data provided from the field and/or on-site inspections and field documentation of commercial and multi-family residential building systems. Our Project Managers perform work under direct mentorship from qualified Senior Project Managers.

This position is initially part-time (approximately 20-25 hours per week).  Depending on individual preference and future workload, there may be an opportunity to move into a full-time role. 

Experience Required
  • Familiarity with utility bills including energy and water consumption and cost data

  • Strong technical writing skills and proven attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet project deadlines  

  • Current, valid state driver’s license (position requires an acceptable motor vehicle record history)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel

  • This position requires the ability and willingness to perform field inspections and to travel to applicable project sites throughout the United States (travel up to 25%)

  • Physical Demands: Ability to physically navigate site properties in various weather conditions and the ability to climb a ladder 

Preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (mechanical or environmental engineering, sustainability)

  • Possess a current energy auditing certification such as the AEE Certified Energy Auditor, Certified Energy Manager, or BPI Analyst or Multifamily Analyst
