Job Description

Environmental Compliance Specialists at Nova Group, GBC are primarily responsible to ensure our clients maintain compliance with local, state, and federal environmental requirements. Assignments will range from small compliance support tasks to comprehensive ongoing environmental compliance management efforts. Our professionals evaluate and deliver compliant environmental services nationwide. They evaluate operations, gather data, and complete permit applications. They play lead roles in developing and assisting with the implementation of environmental plans and procedures (SPCC, SWPPP, Emergency Contingency Plans, FRP, etc). This position will have an initial focus on hazardous waste management along with waste and wastewater sampling. Ample opportunities to coordinate and communicate services, options, and results with our clients across a wide range of industries will be available to those that take initiative.

Experience/Attributes Required
  • 2+ years of environmental compliance experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or related discipline

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Proven ability to develop and manage project scope, cost, and deliverables

  • Strong technical writing and regulatory interpretation skills

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent critical thinking skills, and a high degree of accuracy

  • A high level of integrity and ability to take full ownership of assigned responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Valid state driver’s license (position requires motor vehicle record & background check)

  • Ability to meet annual medical monitoring requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time

Preferred Capabilities
  • Waste Management (RCRA) experience

  • Waste (RCRA) & Wastewater (NPDES) Sampling experience

  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification

  • Client, project, and account management experience
