Job Description

Equity Project Managers at Nova Group, GBC are primarily responsible for performing Property Condition Assessments, in accordance with and exceeding the ASTM 2018 standard and local, state, and federal regulations. Equity PMs complete all aspects of assessments including field work, research, data compilation and report preparation for projects with senior staff review, depending on the scope of work and client needs. Secondary responsibilities may include performing property capital needs assessments (PCNAs), drawing reviews, budget reviews, verification of repairs and construction loan monitoring (CLM) services. This role is at the core of our Equity Group team and facilitates quality deliverables to our clients, exceeding their expectations along the way.

 

This position is expected to be based out of a home office with convenient access to an airport in a larger metropolitan city.  Qualified candidates must possess attributes that prove they can manage themselves remotely and be accountable to multiple, remote stakeholders for delivery of time-critical projects. Candidates should be willing to travel a minimum of +/- 30% of the time.  These are attributes highly valued for the success of this role.

Experience/Attributes Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, or construction-related fields.

  • 2+ years of experience in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Architectural Engineering and Building Envelope Sciences.

  • Experience conducting and/or managing debt PCAs, PCNAs, and/or engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), architectural (Fire and life safety, ADA, etc.) consulting services and/or Equity (acquisition) Property Condition Assessment experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of building components, building systems and cost estimating.

  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and related specification sections.

  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT), on track for or Professional Engineer’s License or Registered Architect’s License (RA or AIA).

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 

  • Keen communication skills that can be leveraged during project site work interviews.

  • Strong technical writing skills and proven attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Comfortable using mobile technology and open to new technological solutions.

  • Valid state driver’s license (position requires motor vehicle record & background check).

  • Ability to meet annual medical monitoring requirements.

  • Travel Requirements: Field work may require travel between 20-50% of the work week, with potential trips throughout the US to support national needs. 

  • Physical Demands: Ability to physically navigate sites, (properties requiring roof access as well as construction sites), in various weather conditions.  Requires the ability to climb ladders or access roof hatches.
