Cummings

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Cummings co-founded Nova Group in 1987 and under his guidance and leadership the company has grown to become one of the largest and most respected firms in the environmental and engineering industry. Always keeping the focus on our clients’ needs, Steve has guided Nova in developing and expanding the company’s services. With a vision to go global, Steve has made strategic acquisitions over the past decade to expand our reach and make Nova what it is today.

Archibald

Senior Vice President,

Business Development

Mr. Archibald manages accounts for Nova’s domestic and international platform and oversees Nova’s Business Development division. Since joining Nova in 2010, he has helped rapidly expand Nova’s footprint by focusing on operations, revenue opportunities, customer service, and strategic partnerships. He brings over 15 years of experience in real estate, and the commercial real estate due diligence industry.

Senior Vice President,

Capital Markets Group Manager

Mr. Asper manages Nova’s National Client Program. He provides senior technical review of deliverables to ensure all aspects of the scope are met. As an SVP with Nova, he has extensive client contact, including state and nationwide project management; program implementation; QA/QC; and liaison with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Mr. Asper focuses on innovative problem solving with clients to assist transactions to a successful close.

Bohline

President & Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Bohline oversees the Finance/Accounting and Human Resources functions of Nova. Mr. Bohline works closely with the other members of Nova’s executive team and helps provide information to make operational, financial, and strategic decisions. He is also responsible for corporate insurance, audit and tax, employee health and welfare plans, and banking relationships. Mr. Bohline has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). His previous work experience is in public accounting performing financial statement audits.

Allan

Busse

Director, Nova Ambiente

Mr. Busse founded Ambiente in July 2005 before merging the business with Nova Group, GBC to create Nova Ambiente. He’s a geologist with a Master’s Degree from the Aachen Institute of Technology in Germany and has a 28-year history in environmental consultancy throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas specialising on transaction advice and developing the environmental management service line. Allan focuses primarily on business and product development. He also regularly takes a Project Director role and continues to maintain a keen interest in all of the company projects.

Hird

Senior Vice President,

Chief Operations Officer

Mr. Hird has over 27 years of experience in the due diligence, environmental and engineering industry. As Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Hird is responsible for the development and implementation of Nova’s operational services to support our clients’ needs. This includes working with clients to delineate appropriate scopes, objectives, budgets and priorities to meet their project needs as well as working with staff to ensure that they are properly trained and that quality assurance programs are properly followed.

Johnson

Senior Vice President,

Director of Operations

Mr. Johnson directs the international efforts of Nova Group, GBC. He works closely with the group managers and office managers of Nova’s branch offices. Mr. Johnson has more than 30 years of experience in environmental consulting. He has managed technical service groups, contracts, sales and marketing initiatives, and has developed many of Nova’s technical programs and standard operating procedures.

Mr. Warn has over 35 years of experience in conducting environmental, energy, and engineering services. His responsibilities have included project management for state and federal agencies, as well as commercial and industrial facilities, on tasks involving sustainable construction, development, and redevelopment; energy audits; environmental site assessments, investigation; remedial action; risk assessment; compliance audits; and regulatory impact analysis.  

Keely Felton, CEA, CMVP

Vice President,

Nova Energy Group

Ms. Felton oversees all Freddie and Fannie green loan reports and other deliverables completed by Nova Energy Group. In this capacity, she reviews High-Performance Building reports and Green Assessment reports for these programs while working closely with Nova’s clients to make sure that all pertinent information is communicated throughout the process. Keely is a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional. She is highly experienced with utility data analysis, including Portfolio Manager and benchmarking.

Ms. Kelm has a track record of success in sales and marketing with over 17 years of experience, 12 of which are in the commercial real estate industry, particularly in Chicago and the Midwest. She has a reputation within the industry for integrity, dependability, and exceptional customer service.

Mr. Cummings works with lenders and institutional investors in the commercial real estate industry. Based out of New York City, Mr. Cummings’ priorities are fostering relationships with Nova’s Northeast clientele, sharing best practices as well as offering best in class solutions enabling our clients to achieve their most critical goals. Prior to joining Nova Group, he worked at Cushman & Wakefield as a member of their advisory team in their office brokerage department.

Mr. Murphy offers over 20 years of experience in the real estate assessment field. He works with a wide variety of clients across the country and has managed the successful completion of over 15,000 due diligence projects throughout his career, including Phase I and II environmental assessments, property condition assessments, and seismic studies.

Mr. Patel has over 22 years of consulting experience in the environmental and engineering industry. He has assisted a wide range of clients, including CMBS lenders, insurance companies, national and regional banks, REITs, agency lenders, and equity firms with their due diligence needs.

Regional Account Manager, HUD Program Manager

Ms. Tate oversees all of the HUD/FHA reports and other deliverables completed by Nova Group’s HUD Program. In this capacity, she reviews all Property Condition Needs Assessment (PCNA) reports and CNA e-Tools while working closely with project managers and conducting final reviews on all environmental due diligence to assure all federal, state, and local agencies were contacted and the appropriate information is relayed to the client in a timely manner.

Robert

Jackson

Vice President,

Equity Group Lead

Mr. Jackson has over 25 years of experience in construction, engineering, and project management. Utilizing dual undergraduate degrees in mechanical engineering and economics, his diverse background includes construction, design, oversight, contract administration, due diligence, building envelope commissioning, and expert witness/construction defect work in building envelope, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Mr. Jackson is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Oregon and is based in the Portland area.

Rick Grismer,

Account Manager

Mr. Grismer is a licensed architect with over 40 years of experience in architecture, construction, construction management, and due diligence reports. His architectural experience has spanned from the Midwest to the western states. He has lectured on CAD development in England, France, and Ireland. Rick is an Account Manager based in the Chicago market.

Knight

Account Manager

Mr. Knight is an Account Manager for the Equity Group. He has over 25 years of experience in the consulting engineering business, with a focus in environmental services. As a project professional, he has been involved with the identification, quantification, and mitigation of environmental and facility defects on a wide variety of commercial, residential, and raw property projects. Mr. Knight has experience in over 1,000 environmental and facility projects, including Phase I and II ESAs, hazardous substances (asbestos, lead, and radon), remedial investigation/delineations, PCAs, and building envelope commissioning. Doug earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Centre College in Kentucky and is based out of Columbus, Ohio. 

Michael Marsich,

Senior Project Manager

Mr. Marsich is a Senior Project Manager out of Raleigh, North Carolina. He has five years of experience in the property condition assessment industry, having completed over 350 PCAs of various project types, including office, retail, industrial, multifamily, hospitality, assisted living, skilled nursing, medical, mobile home communities, self-storage, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac. Mr. Marsich also has over 18 years of experience as a licensed Architect in the state of North Carolina and 12 years as an intern architect and construction administrator. He attended the University of Michigan and obtained a Master of Architecture. 

Trent Augustus

Senior Project Manager

Mr. Augustus is a licensed General Contractor in the state of Utah with more than 20 years of experience in the building construction, construction management, building cost analysis, and property condition assessment fields. As a Senior Project Manager on the equity team, his primary role is working with clients to conduct equity scale property condition assessments on all types of properties, including multifamily, retail, industrial, hotels/motels, mobile home communities, self-storage facilities, and assisted living centers. In addition to his equity work, Mr. Augustus conducts a range of construction loan monitoring services for large scale new construction projects for industrial, multifamily, and commercial property types. He also has a seasoned background in insurance damage cost analysis and insurance underwriting inspections.

Joseph DiBernardo

Vice President,

Construction Services Group Manager

Mr. DiBernardo, with a background in Civil Engineering, has over 25 years of experience in engineering design, consulting, construction monitoring, and project management. More recently, he has focused on construction loan risk management for national and international lenders, commercial banks, real estate investment trusts, private equity investors, tax credit unions, bridge lenders, and developers. He is currently responsible for the management of a technical staff of architects, engineers, construction specialists and professional associates, department operations, department sales/marketing, preparing proposals, client interface, and construction administration reporting nationwide to minimize construction loan risks for clients.

Mr. Paradine is a Registered Architect with over 25 years of experience in architectural design, project management, construction administration, property condition assessments, constructability/document reviews and construction draw monitoring. A career highlight includes the participation of multiple education facilities projects in California.

Alice Ramos

Senior Project Manager

Alice Ramos joined Nova Group as a Senior Project Manager in the Construction Services Group (CSG) with over 37 years’ manufacturing and construction experience. After 15 years working for the U.S. Army Missile Command on missile/missile launcher projects with Lockheed Martin, Alice moved into the construction industry using her master scheduling experience as an onsite project manager for commercial construction. Additionally, Alice has managed construction loan monitoring, developed a funds controls department for a Fortune 500 Company to further mitigate risk nationwide, and trained project managers and construction specialists in the funds control procedures. Alice has extensive experience in construction, construction risk mitigation, construction loan funds control, and progress and draw monitoring as well as experience with construction document reviews.

Project Manager

Ms. Trinh joined Nova Group, GBC as a Project Manager in the Construction Services Group (CSG).  She is based out of the Philadelphia, PA area with a background and degree in Business and Engineering. Before joining Nova, Xu worked for a Fortune 500 company, managing  numerous construction loan fund control projects as well as draw monitoring progress. Ms. Trinh will be performing construction loan site work and reviewing construction loan monitoring reports.

Mr. Hayes joined Nova Group, GBC as a Project Manager in the Construction Services Group (CSG). He is based out of the Kansas City, MO area with a background and degree in Architectural Engineering. With his engineering background, he has completed modular block retaining wall design as well as structural design experience. Additionally, Mr. Hayes has recently worked in the construction loan monitoring services field as well as with property due diligence and will be performing construction loan site work and reviewing construction loan monitoring reports.

Associate Technical Team Manager

Ms. Billings is the Technical Team Leader and Senior Project Manager for Nova Energy Group. Margo is a BPI-certified energy auditor with nine years of experience in building energy efficiency consulting and project management. Her primary responsibilities include senior technical review of deliverables to Nova Energy Group clients, energy and water usage modeling, and consumption analysis, training and support of field assessors and technical reviewers and QA/QC of all aspects of project management.

Senior Project Manager

Mr. Warn is a certified energy auditor and building analyst working out of Shawnee, Kansas. Nolan worked in the renewable energy sector as a Photovoltaic System Designer for 2 years prior to joining the Nova team in April of 2017. Since joining the team, Nolan has conducted 100+ Level I and Level II energy audits and has become responsible for the continued training of the field assessors.

Mr. Leines is the director for the Industrial Hygiene (IH) Services Group, working out of Lenexa, Kansas. He has spent his 25+ years of experience in the environmental, health, and safety (EHS) industry serving clients by managing a wide variety of EHS projects at industrial, commercial, state, and federal facilities throughout the United States. He is responsible for business development, contract and project management, industrial hygiene and safety-related services, project oversight, training of clients and staff, regulatory review, and reporting.

Larson

Industrial Hygiene

Project Manager

Mrs. Larson has over seven years of consulting experience in the environmental and health and safety fields. Her responsibilities as a Project Manager for the Industrial Hygiene Group include client communications, site assessments, air and noise monitoring, and reporting for a wide variety of industrial hygiene projects. She also assists clients with managing their health and safety programs. Mrs. Larson is based out of the Minneapolis, Minnesota office.

Industrial Hygiene Technician

Taylor Russell is an Industrial Hygiene Technician with Nova Group, GBC. Mr. Russell has 3 years of consulting experience in the health and safety fields. He went to the University of Central Missouri and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety Management. Taylor is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP). He assists clients with industrial hygiene and safety related issues that range from air and noise monitoring, remediation supervision, and management of national employee health programs.

 

Regional Group

Mark Perry

Corporate Vice President,

Environmental Assessment & Remediation Group Leader

Mr. Perry has more than 25 years of experience conducting and managing environmental investigations, brownfield redevelopment/remediation, and property site assessments, including: Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Property Condition Assessments (PCA), Property Zoning Reports (PZR) and Hazardous Materials Surveys. Mr. Perry also has experience with the coordination and oversight of Geotechnical Evaluations and aspects of Construction Loan Monitoring projects, including upfront construction document reviews, monthly site inspections, and pay application/draw reviews.

Vanessa Chambers

Senior Vice President, Southern Region

Mrs. Chambers currently serves as a Senior Vice President and Nova’s Southern Regional Manager. Mrs. Chambers is proficient in a variety of environmental services and oversees geotechnical and facilities services for several client accounts. In addition, Mrs. Chambers directs the client development and technical delivery functions of the region.

Mike Minett

Atlantic Region

Mr. Minett has been involved with environmental projects for more than 22 years. His responsibilities have included client communication and scope development. He specializes in providing due diligence consulting services to banks and financial institutions prior to acquisition.

Rich George

Regional Client Manager

Mr. George is a Regional Client Manager based out of Jacksonville, Florida. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Hydrology, Rich is a licensed PG and LSRP with over 23 years of experience providing due diligence in the environmental and engineering field. Rich is responsible for managing due diligence investigations for property acquisition and financing, including environmental site assessments (ESAs), property condition assessments (PCAs), subsurface site investigations, site characterizations, remediation and other due diligence-related services. This includes providing expert-level managerial, technical and operational project coordination and managing client relations in the development and implementation of Nova services. He works directly with clients to delineate appropriate scopes, objectives, budgets and priorities that meet their project needs.
